A nine-month research project documenting how public space conditions the freedom of the body. Conducted in Poble Sec, Barcelona, the study recorded the relationship between physical exposure and the experience of street harassment — from intimidating glances to unsolicited comments to physical contact. The more exposed the body, the more violence it encountered.

Public space is not neutral. The perception of insecurity — specifically the fear of sexual violence — quietly shapes how we move, what we wear, which routes we take and which we avoid. Roofless Cages makes that invisible negotiation visible.
